Description: When you have stomach troubles, Pepto-Bismol bismuth subsalicylate caplets calms and soothes your stomach. These caplets can help to relieve nausea, heartburn, indigestion, upset stomach, and diarrhea.

Directions:

  • Adults: Take 2 caplets. Swallow with water. Do not chew.
  • Children Aged 10 to 14: Take 1 caplet. Swallow with water. Do not chew.
  • Children Aged 5 to 9: Take 0.5 caplet. Swallow with water. Do not chew.
  • Repeat above dosage every 30 minutes as needed, up to a maximum of 8 doses in a 24 hour period. Do not exceed 8 doses in 24 hours.
  • Drink plenty of fluids to help prevent dehydration, which make accompany diarrhea.
  • Do not take continuously for more than 2 days for diarrhea and more than 14 days for upset stomach, EXCEPT under supervision of a doctor.

Medicinal Ingredients (per caplet):

  • 262 mg Bismuth Subsalicylate

Non-medicinal Ingredients:

  • Calcium carbonate
  • Magnesium stearate
  • Mannitol
  • Microcrystalline cellulose
  • Polysorbate 80
  • Povidone
  • Red 27 lake
  • Silica dioxide
  • Sodium starch glycolate

Warning:

    • Do not take this product if you are allergic to salicylates, including acetylsalicylic acid or taking other slicylate products.
    • Do not use if you have an ulcer, a bleeding problem, bloody or black stool.
    • Ask a doctor before use if you have fever, mucus in stool, when taking tetracycline antibiotics, if taking medicines for anticoagulation, diabetes, gout, or arthritis.
    • If pregnant or nursing, may cause temporary but harmless darkening of tongue or stool.
    • If symptoms of upset stomach worsen, recur, or persist for more than 2 weeks, consult a physician.
    • Stop use and consult a physician if ringing in the ears or loss of hearing occurs, if diarrhea is accompanied by high fever or continues for more than 2 days, if symptoms get worse or last for more than 2 days.
    • In case of accidental overdose, contact a physician or poison control centre immediately.
