Optifer Alpha Heme Iron 11mg Elemental Iron (60 tablets)

Description: Optifer Alpha Heme Iron Tablets is formulated to help prevent iron deficiency and iron deficiency anemia and is based on non-GMO, natural bovine heme iron.

Recommended Dose:

• For Adults: Take 1 tablet three times daily with food OR as recommended by your health care professional.
• For Pregnant Women: Take 1 tablet three times daily with food OR as recommended by your health care professional.
• Take with food. Take a few hours before or after taking other medications.

• Micro-crystalline cellulose
• Calcium carbonate
• Modified food starch
• Magnesium sulfate

Warnings:

• Keep away from children. Accidental overdose of iron-containing products can cause fatal poisoning in children younger than 6 years. If accidental overdose occurs, call a doctor or poison control centre immediately.
• Individuals that are pregnant, breastfeeding, or have hemochromatosis, other types of anemia, repeated blood transfusions, or stomach/intestinal problems should tell their pharmacist or doctor before using this product.
• Contra-indications: Before using heme iron, individuals should tell their pharmacist or doctor if using methyldopa or other iron-containing products. Iron supplements can decrease the absorption such as tetracycline antibiotices, penicillamine, cefdinir, chloramphenicaol, levothyroxine, levodopa, and quinolone antibiotics.
