Lax-A-Fibre Psylium Husk Powder (336 grams)

Description: Lax-A Fibre is formulated to help make stools softer and bulkier and to stimulate the intestinal muscles to contract, causing the digestive contents to move along and leading to an easier bowel movement.

Dosage: At the first sign of constipation, take 1 dose up to 3 times daily.

• Adults: 1 rounded teaspoon (7 g)
• Children (6 to 12 years): 1/2 rounded teaspoon (3.5 g)
• Children under 6 years: Consult a physician

Active Ingredient:

• Each 7 g dose contains 3.4 g of psyllium husk powder

Non-medicinal Ingredients:

• Silicon dioxide
• Sucrose.

Precautions:

• Keep this and all medication out of reach of children.
• Consult a healthcare practitioner if symptoms worsen or if laxative effect does not occur within seven days.
• Do not take a laxative within 2 hours of any other medicine.
• Consult your healthcare provider before use if you are taking medications that inhibit peristaltic movement.
• Avoid inhalation. 
• May cause an allergic reaction in people sensitive to inhaled or ingested psyllium.
• Taking this product without adequate fluid may cause it to swell and block your throat or esophagus and may cause choking.
• Seek medical attention immediately if you experience chest pain, vomiting, or difficulty in swallowing or breathing after taking this product.
• Consult a healthcare provider prior to use if you have symptoms such as abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, or fever.
• Do not use laxatives for more than one week unless advised by a physician.
• Do not interrupt medication.
• Do not swallow in dry form.
• Contraindications: Do not use if you have difficulty swallowing. Do not use if you have diabetes mellitus where blood sugar is difficult to regulate. Do not use if you are experiencing sudden change in bowel habits lasting more than 2 weeks, undiagnosed rectal bleeding, or failure to defecate after using another laxative.
• Known Adverse Reactions: Hypersensitivity (e.g., allergy) may occur following inhaled and/or ingested psyllium; discontinue use if this occurs. May cause temporary gas and/or bloating.
