JAMP-K Potassium Supplement Effervescent Tablets Orange Flavour (30 tablets)

Description: JAMP-K Potassium Supplement is a therapeutic use supplement that comes in orange flavour effervescent tablets for easy administration and use. Each tablet contains 25 mEq of elemental potassium.

Indications: For the treatment or prevention of hypokalemia (potassium depletion) which does not result from dietary deficiency. For the treatment of digitalis toxicity. Potassium replacement therapy. Electrolyte replenisher. For the treatment of metabolic acidosis.

Dosage (for adult use):

• Adults (for the prevention of hypokalemia): Take 1 tablet once per day.
  
• Adults (for the treatment of hypokalemia): Take 1 tablet 2 to 4 times per day.

Dosage Instructions: To be taken only on the advice of a physician. Prescribing information is available to physicians and pharmacists upon request. Take this medicine immediately after meals or with food to lessen possible stomach upset or laxative action. Completely dissolve in 250 mL cold water or juice, allow fizzing to stop before drinking. Drink the solution in 2 to 4 divided doses.

Risk Information:

• Consult your physician prior to use if you have impaired kidney function. The use of potassium supplements must be monitored closely in these patients.
  
• Consult your physician before taking potassium supplements and potassium sparing diuretics (e.g. spironolactone or triamterene) together as this may cause high than normal potassium levels in the blood.
• A probable association exists between the use of coated tablets containing potassium salts, with or without thiazide diuretics, and the incidence of serious small bowel ulceration. Such preparation should be used only when adequate dietary supplementation is not practical, and should be discontinued if abdominal pain, distention, nausea, vomiting, or gastrointestinal bleeding occurs.
  
• Do not use with other potassium-containing supplements or with potassium containing salt-substitutes.
• Keep this and all medication out of the reach of children.
  
• Store in a cool place below 25 degrees Celsius. Protect from moisture and light.
