Description: health One Acetylsalicylic Acid 81mg Low Dose Delayed Release Tablets can be used for doctor recommended ASA 81mg supervised adult, long-term preventive therapy. ASA 81mg has an enteric coating to help prevent stomach irritation.
Dosage for Adults 18+:
- For doctor supervised long-term preventive therapy: 1-4 tablets as directed by physician. Swallow whole. Do not crush or break tablets. It is hazardous to exceed the dose recommended by your doctor.
- During a heart attack: Call 911, then crush or chew 2 tablets. Inform emergency services or hospital that you have taken an Acetylsalicylic Acid (ASA) tablet.
Medicinal Ingredients (per tablet):
- Acetylsalicylic Acid 81mg
Non-medicinal Ingredients:
- Colloidal silica
- Corn starch
- FD&C No. 1
- Hypromellose
- Methacrylic acid copolymer
- Microcrystalline cellulose
- Purified water
- Sodium bicarbonate
- Sodium lauryl sulphate
- Sulphate
- Talc
- Titanium dioxide
- Triacetin
- Triethyl citrate
Warnings:
- Reye's Syndrome. Do not give to children and teenagers uner 18 years of age who have chicken pox, cold or flu symptoms. ASA is reported to be linked to Reye's Syndrome, a rare but serious illness.
- Stomach bleeding warning. ASA may cause severe stomach bleeding. Stop use and get medical help right away if you feel faint, vomit blood, have bloody or black stools, have stomach pain that does not get better.
- Allergy alert. ASA may cause a severe allergic reaction including skin rash or hives, face swelling, wheezing, trouble breathing, shock. If an allergic reaction occurs, get medical help right away.
- Do not use if you are taking other products containing ASA, salicylates, NSAIDs/pain relievers/fever reducers; are allergic to or have asthma brought on by ASA, salicylates or NSAIDs; have or have had ulcers; are prone to bleeding; have active or severe liver or kidney disease or congestive heart failure; are using methotrexate at doses of 15mg/week or more; are in your last trimester of pregnancy
- Ask a doctor or pharmacist before use if you have stomach problems such as heartburn, asthma, high blood pressure, heart disease, gout, severe anemia, any other serious condition; take 3 or more alcoholic drinks every day; take any other medication, especially acetaminophen, diuretics, blood thinners, methotrexate, steroids, medicine for seizures, arthritis, diabetes, or gout; are 60 years old, trying to conceive or pregnant (it is especially important not to use ASA at 20 weeks or later in pregnancy unless directed by a doctor because it may cause problems in unborn child or complications during delivery, breastfeeding, having surgery in 5 to 7 days); have not seen a doctor about your condition
- Stop use and ask a doctor if you have any hearing loss, ringing or buzzing in the ears, redness or swelling, bleeding or bruising, nausea or vomiting.
- Keep out of reach of children. This package contains enough drug to seriously hard a child. In case of overdose, call a Poison Control Centre or get medical help right away.
