Colace Docusate Sodium Stool Softener Capsules (60 capsules)

Directions: Colace Stool Softener capsules treat occasional constipation, including constipation associated with certain medical conditions. It is stimulant-free to provide safe, gentle, comfortable, and effective relief, generally producing bowel movements in 12 to 72 hours. 

Directions:

• Adults and Children Age 12+: Take 1 or 2 capsules one to two times per day. Do not take more than 4 capsules in 24 hours.
• Children Age 6-11: Take 1 capsule per day. Do not take more than 1 capsule in 24 hours.
• The effect of Colace on the stools may not be apparent for one to three days after the first oral dose. Drink increased fluids (one full glass or more).

Medicinal Ingredients: Docusate Sodium 100 mg

Non-medicinal Ingredients: D&C red no.33, FD&C red no.40, FD&C yellow no.6, gelatin, glycerin, PEG-400, propylene glycol, sorbitol, titanium dioxide

Warnings:

• Do not use in the presence of abdominal pain, nausea, fever or vomiting. Frequent or prolonged use may result in dependence on laxatives. Do not administer Colace within two hours of another medicine, because the desired effect of the other medicine may be reduced or if you are taking mineral oil. Do not take for more than one week unless advised by a physician.
• Please retain carton for precautions.
• Ask a doctor or pharmacist before use if: you are allergic to docusate sodium or any other ingredient in this product.
• Stop use and ask a doctor if: rectal bleeding occurs, symptoms persist or last for more than one week or you notice a sudden change in bowel habits that persists over a period of two weeks.
• If pregnant or breast-feeding, ask a healthcare professional before use.
• In case of overdose: call a poison control centre or a healthcare professional immediately, even if you do not notice any signs or symptoms.
• Keep this and all medication out of the reach of children.
